PORSCHE AG/PCNA Concours d'Elegance At Heron Lakes Golf Course

The PORSCHE AG/PCNA Concours d'Elegance and Car Show at the 51'st Porsche Parade in Portland Oregon is being sponsored by Porsche AG and Porsche Cars North America and will be held at the beautiful Heron Lakes Golf Course. The Golf Course is 10 minutes from the main Parade hotel and 5 minutes from the Portland International Raceway (PIR).

Being on the golf course, the site has lovely trees and landscaping and the location on the course afford the viewer at the entrance to have a panoramic views of all cars entered into the show. The main presentation area is an elevated part of the driving range and therefore no "ramp" is needed to give spectators a clear view of the cars presented in this "Presentation Area". This presentation area will be used to judge selected classes and also to present trophy winners.

The optional "10 mile pre-concours tour" for entrants in the Restoration Group will be scheduled to begin at 9:00 A.M. Sunday morning.  Instructions for the tour and the starting point will be provided at registration.  Pursuant to PCR C-6.2 three bonus points are awarded to those cars that complete the tour.

In addition to the Porsche Concours d’Elegance, there will be a Porsche Paddock People’s Choice at the 2006 Porsche Parade Portland in a separate area near the Concours.  Entrants may enter either the Porsche Concours or the Porsche Paddock with Porsche # 1.  There will be no Concours judging for car in the Parade Paddock beyond People’s Choice and you may enter a car other than Porsche #1.  There will be no additional fee for Parade entrants to enter the Porsche Paddock.  The regular concours will have all of the discipline and rigor for the serious concours enthusiast, but for all of you casual PCA members who would like to clean their cars, park them next to other such cars and have them judged as well, this is the event for you. Look for details in the registration packet.

Historic Display in the Porsche AG/PCNA Concours d'Elegance
Heron Lakes Golf Course is a beautiful backdrop to showcase your Historic Porsche. There will be a number of significant historical Porsches, winning Porsche race cars, and past Manhattan trophy winners displayed. The number of Porsches allowed in the Historic Display is limited and is now closed for new entries. No Concours judging in the Historic Display.

Location & Schedule
Summer in Portland is a well kept secret that we are willing to share with other PCA enthusiasts. Please don't tell too many of your friends, since we don't want be to overrun by too many people. But for showing beautiful Porsches (aren't they all beautiful?) the warm, dry, sunny summer days we typically have make for a perfect concours. We hope all of you will bring your Porsches and show them off!

Weather
August in Portland is usually dry and warm. Temperatures are typically 75 to 90 degrees. Even if the temperature is in the 90’s, the humidity is rarely high making for very comfortable outdoor weather. Since we are NOT expecting rain, and the golf course has many shade trees participants are free to enjoy their lunch around the site. Just in case however, you may want to bring a light rain repellent jacket and head gear.
