Congratulations to those who have been accepted into the 51st Porsche Parade in Portland, Oregon, August 6 through 11, 2006! There has been significant interest in this year’s event; both registration and wait lists are closed.
Those who applied early and have been accepted should have received an email from Parade Portland confirmation with your Parade entrant or car number. This same number is on the address label of the mailing. This is the only mailing you will receive before you arrive in Portland and pick up your registration package which will include your name badges, car numbers, banquet tickets, Parade Portland binder, and all manner of other items in your Parade Portland Goodie Bag.
The
parade mailing contains all the information you will need before arriving at
Parade Portland. Please
read the materials carefully, especially pay attention to important dates and instructions. Also
included are the copies of the Parade Competition Rules (PCRs), if you requested these
during the online registration and have not already been mailed a copy.

Basic Information
Included
in the parade mailing (or in a separate email message) is a printout of your record
in the Registration database -- everything you have registered for at Parade
Portland. Due to the overwhelming response to Parade Portland, the autocross and
tour schedules were changed. Please check this carefully to ensure that what is in the
database is what you want to do at Parade Portland. Please especially check
to make sure your name badge information is correct. We
don’t want to have to charge you for another name
badge. If you have questions on any of the Parade Portland events and
associated activities, please contact the appropriate Chairperson. If you need
to make any changes, please contact the Registrars. All changes must by made by
the Registrars. All the basic information about Parade Portland are included in
the mailing: directions to the Red Lion on the River, detailed Parade Portland
schedule, descriptions of the events and associated activities, names of Parade
Chairperson with telephone numbers and email addresses, a list of Parade
sponsor without whom we would not be able to put on events, and other important
information you may need.
Entrant Numbers
The
entrant numbers were automatically assigned by the online registration computer
based upon when the online application was completed and paid. The format for
the entrant number suffix is: “A” is the entrant, “B” is the co-entrant, “K” is
for children, “J” is for Junior Participation Program (JPP) entrant, “C” is for
College Age Family Program (CAFP) entrants, and “G” is for family-related
adults.
PCA Membership and Driver’s License
PCA
Parade Competition Rules require that, at the time of registration, you and
your co-entrant must be current members of PCA. In addition, if you and your
co-entrant (and JPP and CAFP entrants, if any) plan to drive at Parade
Portland, each must have a valid driver’s license. Make sure your PCA dues are
current and your driver’s licenses are valid when you arrive at registration.
Be prepared to show these when you arrive at registration at Parade Portland. A
word of caution, Oregon requires that vehicles have both a front and rear
license plate.
Junior Participation Program (JPP)
PCA
requires two forms (one completed by the JPP entrant and one completed by the parents)
for JPP members to enter competitive events. Both parents/legal guardians must
sign the parental consent form and both of the forms must list all events to be
entered with the corresponding dates for these events. JPP members must bring
the two completed forms to Parade. We will also have the forms at Parade
Portland; however, both
parents/legal guardians must sign the forms.
Art Show
If
you indicated your intention to participate in the Art Show, this event has a
separate form which must be completed if you want to participate in this event.
The Art Show entry form must be returned by June 1, 2006 to the Registrars.
Transfers, Cancellations, and
Refunds
Parade
registrations may not be transferred. If you must cancel your attendance at Parade
Portland, this is the cancellation policy: Fifty percent (50%) refund of
Registration Fees and full refunds of banquet tickets and other fees will be
made for cancellations only if the request to the Registrar is in writing and
is postmarked on or before June 15, 2006. E-mail and telephone messages will
not be accepted for refunds. No refunds after June 15, 2006.
The parade mailer is the one and only mailing you will receive before Parade Portland. If you have questions, please visit the Parade Portland website at www.paradeportland.org or contact the appropriate Chairperson or contact the Registrars.
Thank
you for deciding to visit us in Portland and remember, its O.K. to relax in the
Pacific Northwest. We have no dress code and business casual is the dressiest
you will need. But, wear a tuxedo or evening dress if you prefer.
